Origami on the Paşabahçe Ferry

The Origami workshop on the historic Paşabahçe Ferry was conceived as a collective experience that transformed a ferry journey into a temporary space of making. During the trip to Büyükada, discarded paper was folded into new forms through the practice of origami, unfolding within the everyday rhythm of the voyage.

Led by Elif Ece Alarcın, the workshop evolved through the participation of passengers on board. Children, young participants and travellers who joined along the way became part of this temporary production space shaped by the movement of the ferry.

The forms created during the journey became part of a brief collective moment within the public atmosphere of the ferry. For the duration of the trip, an ordinary transportation route turned into a shared space of creation.
