19 PET Transformed into a Birdhouse
We turned 19 five-liter PET bottles collected in our neighborhood into filament and used it to 3D-print a functional birdhouse, now installed in Yoğurtçu Park.
From PET to Public Space
We collected and processed the PET bottles, prepared them for filament production, and used the resulting material to 3D-print the birdhouse. The design was developed for outdoor use, taking into account ventilation, entrance dimensions and its position within the park.
Following production, we installed the birdhouse in Yoğurtçu Park, bringing the material transformation process into a functional public-space application. We continue to observe its use and performance under outdoor conditions.
This project is part of our ongoing work to process locally collected PET bottles within our own production system and develop small-scale, functional applications for the city. By combining material recovery with 3D printing, we continue to explore replicable ways of bringing recovered materials back into everyday use.
