We separately collect paper, packaging, plastic and textile waste regularly generated across businesses, offices, institutions, retail spaces and production facilities. With each collection, we record the amount and its collection point, while continuing to track how the waste is used within the same system. PARKCYCLE creates an ongoing record from the point of collection through to its next use.
Each PARKCYCLE collection point is shaped around the day-to-day operations of its location. We assess which types of waste are regularly generated, the quantities accumulated and the boxes required, then determine the appropriate box types, capacities and collection frequency. This allows the same system to operate consistently across spaces with different patterns of use.
We collect accumulated waste at scheduled intervals and explore its potential for reuse. By examining its physical structure, surface, durability, joining possibilities and applicable production methods, we determine how it can be incorporated into production, education and material experiments. Each application adds new methods and practical knowledge that can inform future work.
At every collection point, we regularly record how much waste is collected, where it is used, which methods are applied and what results are produced. This information is updated through QR-linked records, creating a direct connection between collected quantities and production outcomes. In this way, the contribution of each PARKCYCLE point can be understood not only through the amount collected, but also through how the waste is subsequently used and what is produced from it.
