Collective A Christmas Story

Every story begins with a special moment of transformation when we say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. This year, we became a part of such a transformation and celebrated the New Year spirit in a completely different way in YoÄŸurtçu Park. Handcrafted ornaments made from waste materials, combined with trees embracing nature, turned into an unforgettable New Year's Eve event.

At the centre of the event was the idea of transforming the trash of the past into the gifts of the future. Neighbourhood residents and artists came together to transform waste materials into brand new designs. Unused plastic bottles, old pieces of fabric, cardboard boxes and more were transformed into unique Christmas decorations with the creativity of all of us. The trees decorated with these ornaments gained both an environmentally friendly and aesthetic appearance. Neighbourhood residents gathered among the natural beauties of YoÄŸurtçu Park and experienced the joy of the New Year while decorating the trees. Each ornament produced during the event carried a story. This event, where friendships were strengthened and creativity met with pleasure, succeeded in keeping the awareness of sustainability alive in a pleasant way.

The Importance of Collective Participation
The event was not only a decoration work, but also a celebration of neighbourhood solidarity and collective production. Children, adults, artists and environmental friends joined hands to create a story of transformation. While the participants experienced the joy of working together, it was possible to see the traces of solidarity in every design created.

Invitation to Next Meetings
This meeting is just the beginning! At the end of the event, we left saying ‘See you at our next meetings where we will continue to produce together!’ We invite artists, creative souls and all friends of our neighbourhood to be together at the next events.
